So now I want a vitrine of my own. I'm imagining curating quarterly exhibits of collections, artworks, curios, etc. Of course, I'll have to print up an exhibit essay, and I'll post about each exhibit. Now I just need a vitrine. If only we didn't have space considerations to worry about! Maybe I'll find a small vitrine. Or give up my desk. Or move.... It's not nearly as exciting, but for now I'll have to make do with a virtual vitrine.
I figured my mini museum has to have a name, so maybe Galerie Lunaire? There are so many historic Continental curiosity cabinets, so that's what the French refers to (besides "galerie" looks so much more romantic and museum-like than "gallery," which looks so bland and commercial - besides, I have to use my 6 years of French sometime). The "Lunaire" is a tie to my theater project. I would definitely want to relate some of the exhibits to my performances and I envision the two projects sharing an audience (if there is any audience!). "Lunaire" is also appropriate because clearly I am a lunatic. Sane people don't convert their homes into museums and theaters.
Here's some photos of vitrines for inspiration:
